GRSP received 2017 Prince Michael International Road Safety Award
GRSP proudly accepted a 2017 Prince Michael International Road Safety Award. This prestigious award is being made to GRSP in recognition of our support for organizations around the world advocating for strengthened road safety legislation. In presenting the award, the Judges specifically noted our Advocacy & Grants Programme’s successes to date and commended the programme team’s ability to assist advocates to move road safety up the legislative agenda. To date, GRSP has awarded more than 85 grants to civil society and governmental organizations to advocate for strong, evidence-based road safety laws. In support of those grants, GRSP has provided direct advocacy training to more than 4,000 advocates, developed a number of advocacy-related technical resources available on our Advocacy Resource Center, and strengthened the way by which advocacy campaigns are monitored and evaluated.
We would like to specifically thank Bloomberg Philanthropies whose financial support to GRSP makes much of our work to strengthen national and subnational road safety legislation possible. In addition, GRSP works in close partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Global Health Advocacy Incubator to support local civil society partners and this award is testament to our strong working relationship.
