HALVING ROAD DEATHS AND INJURIES BY 2020
‘The Challenges for Communities, Companies and Countries’

The target set out within the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of halving road crash deaths by 2020 poses a significant challenge to us all. To meet this challenge, road safety stakeholders must engage across sectors with renewed vigour, and encourage new actors to join the global effort.

Asia Pacific Road Safety 2016 marks the ninth running of this important regional event, organized by the Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP) and the International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP). The focus this year will be on identifying and addressing challenges specific to the region which will contribute toward the ambitious target of the SDGs.

The event will comprise a range of stimulating capacity building workshops, keynote addresses and plenary sessions over two full days (24-25 May), with the iRAP Workshop being held on day three (26 May). There will also be opportunities to cast an eye back to the 2015 conference to investigate outcomes from return participants.

Key representatives from countries throughout Asia Pacific will attend the seminar, including:

  • senior government officials, from road safety, transport, health, police and education
  • road safety researchers and experts
  • representatives of NGOs working in road safety in the region
  • key business representatives with an interest in road safety.

More details will be published soon and notices sent as registration opens.

The event is organized in partnership with China Red Cross Foundation with support from Shell, Total and Toyota.

Together we can save millions of lives.
