Road Safety Executive Leadership Course
Road Safety Executive Leadership Course (RSELC)
The Road Safety Executive Leadership Course (RSELC) is a course specifically designed for senior road safety leaders, with a key focus on enabling strategic decision-making that will provide a framework for evidence-based road safety interventions. The course combines delivery through a comprehensive web learning platform and an in-person one-week engagement. The course introduces key road safety topics and issues, but also gives a significant focus to leadership principles and road safety management. There is also a strong focus on the utilisation of data to inform best-practice approaches.
Key features of the programme include:
- Sustained engagement through online modality and in-person delivery
- Specified focus on leadership principles and strategic decision-making
- Key regional focus for each delivery
The course includes a dedicated online phase which includes modules focusing on:
- The road safety problem: a global overview
- Risk factors contributing to road traffic crashes and related injuries
- Evidence-based approaches to road safety
The in-person phase is a one-week residential program that focuses on strategic decision-making, resource mobilisation and key leadership principles.
The RSELC is held annually at a regional location and the course is open to participants through an internal nomination process of the partner organisations of the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety.
