Road Safety Grants Programme launches first competitive call for proposals
Building the capacity, knowledge and skills necessary to address the road safety crisis is a key component of the Road Safety in 10 Countries (RS10) Initiative, funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies. It also remains a central focus of the new Road Safety Grants Programme, which is launching a first call for project proposals.
“The grants programme is an exciting opportunity to really make a difference and build sustainability in the countries where RS10 is present”, explains Galye DiPietro, RS10 Global Manager. “It presents a chance for us to work with great local actors who can bring a local solution to a local problem”, she added.
The Road Safety Grants Programme was initiated in early 2012 as part of the Road Safety in Ten Countries Initiative (RS10). It aims to strengthen the capacity of NGOs as they advocate for improvements in road safety policies, and work to reduce deaths and serious injuries resulting from road crashes.
Details on the selection criteria and grants process can be downloaded directly from our website in eight languages here. A set of application documents are available (in English only) for organizations who wish to apply. Please note that proposals from countries outside the RS10 Initiative will not be considered.
The deadline for submission of completed applications is Friday, 10 August at 18:00 hours, Central European Time. Completed applications fulfilling the selection criteria will be reviewed by an international panel of experts, and recommendations for funding will be made by an advisory working group. Applicants will be informed by the second week of October if their application has been selected for consideration.
