Shell receives Prince Michael of Kent ‘International Road Safety Award’
GRSP would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Shell for having earned the prestigious Prince Michael of Kent International Road Safety Award.
The Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards recognise achievements and innovations which will improve road safety. Each year the most outstanding examples of international road safety initiatives are given public recognition through the scheme – and Shell is an outstanding example to all in this field.
Presenting the award during his visit, His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent said, “In addition to making your own people and the communities in which you operate much safer when on the road, you are an outstanding example to your industry and to the private sector. You are also showing the way to many national governments”.
Receiving the award during the Shell Early Career Professionals Conference held within the Shell Eco-marathon Europe 2013 in Rotterdam, Chief Executive Officer, Peter Voser, said, “Shell is honoured to be this year’s recipient of the Prince Michael International Road Safety Award. The award recognizes the significant progress Shell’s employees and contractors have made in improving our road safety record, and the focus we put on safety each and every day throughout our global operations”.
Shell is a GRSP member, a long term partner of GRSP’s Global Road Safety Initiative and a major contributor to the GRSP executive and steering committees – and more importantly, a road safety leader.
